Collecting Ansel Adams
Celebrated for his majestic photographs of nature and the landscape, Ansel Adams' oeuvre is likely known to more people than the work of any other American photographer. As early as 1922, Adams was exhibiting and selling his photographs of the Yosemite Valley and he would continue to photograph and print until 1978. The purpose of this workshop will be to illustrate the variety of prints produced by Ansel Adams throughout his career and discuss the span of current values of his photographs. Included in the discussion will be the early Parmelian prints, the portfolios, mural prints and the Special Edition Prints for the Ansel Adams Gallery.
